Album Art Widget Screenshot

Introduction

A fast and compact album art and song rating displaying widget. It displays the album cover art of songs playing in iTunes. It can automatically fetch album art from internet sources and save them to iTunes. Additionally, you can jump easily to the iTunes Music Store page of the current playing song or artist, rate your songs with a single click and pause/skip/play songs without opening the iTunes window.

Works well with my iTunes at finding album art, but I have some songs from Artists that don't have album name &amp; the ones I do have doesn't show album tracks. All in all very helpful, thanks.

Same as others. Although previous versions worked perfectly, this version of Album Art Widget does not work. I also get the "iTunes not playing" message on 10.5.8 Server with version 9.1.1 of iTunes.

I downloaded release 2.95 and it does not fetch anything. Claims iTunes is not currently running.

I've managed to fix the bug with the album list not showing up.
You need to change the z-index for the background class to "-1". Then it works.

I've also made some changes to the widget, so that it can now be localized.

But what I can't seem to figure out is why I can't change the track directly from the album list. I can see that you're trying to use playTrack method on the AlbumArt object but i can't see any call to that method in the log. I don't know if it isnt properly implemented or if if simply doesn't get called.

Nice Widget but I seem to be having the same issue as others. My 2.9.2 displays existing artwork and can't fetch as noted, but 2.9.5 won't recognise iTunes, the most recent version for my PPC OS 10.4. I have tried it in the system library widget folder as well as the user library widget folder (Not at the same time) but nada either way

I just tried this, and it is not working. I have iTunes playing a song, and the widget only states that "iTunes Not Playing". This is version 2.9.5 of the widget on a PowerPC G4 Mac Running OS X v10.5.8.
It would have been nice to have this working, but it will be deleted for now.

This have been been my fav for a long time, with rarely a problem. I've added to my desktop instead of my dashboard. Make the 1/2 stars rating with I've activated would be nice.

This product has never worked for me. I just downloaded the latest version, and was hopeful that it would finally start to function as advertised. Amazon Album Art works much better and has successfully found 95% of the art work I was looking for and only had to revert to a google search the remaining 5%.
Mid 2007 iMac with SL 10.6.2, I have been using the widget praying it will start working since I was running 10.5.4, through several version of the widget.

Mine is busted as well, Terry. I only noticed recently v2.9.2 had stopped displaying any artwork but displays the track information no problem. While v2.9.5 wont recognize iTunes is running, so no artwork either. This is on Leopard 10.5.8, iTunes 9.0.2.

I guess Apple loves changing things?

This was a fantastic widget for years, until it stopped working. Now it just displays the art and doesn't let me add it to the track(s). Guess it's back to the Amazon album art widget. :(

Worked fine in OS 10.4. Now with OS 10.6, it doesn't fetch the artwork! It just displays artwork that is already on the song that is playing. Thus artwork that is missing it does not fetch!

i tried 2.4 and it did only show artwork that was already in itunes.

now i upgraded to 2.9 and it shows nothing more at all. in fact i get the message "itunes not playing"

totally useless app. at least with osx 10.4

Maybe your re installation was not perfectly done and that might have caused it not to work properly.Try to do it again and surely it will work as I find here working here good without any troubles.

Hi all.

I've just released a new version of this widget that fixes the Amazon album art fetching. If you have been having problems with the Amazon album art fetch,g please download 2.9.4.

The problem was due to a change in the Amazon protocols which meant I had to write and test a new implementation of the fetching code.
