microsoft watch.

boingboing again, an article on microsoft's SPOT watch. describes the technology pretty well, it does sound like something that a geek would want to wear, but would the average consumer want something like this? its like a big a bet as Palm Pilots were when they first came out.

the cool thing is they're using FM to broadcast data at 12kb/s, one way traffic. so there isn't much chance of them tracking you, and like radio, you tune into the stats you want on your watch, like certain weather reports, stock prices, traffic conditions, etc. but currently its US only.
