i'm kicking myself for not getting a picture, but the ATMs that deal with deposits crashed on saturday in HSBC in cambridge around 3pm. one of the staff was getting them rebooted. it looked like there were two levels of rebooting going on, one with some crypto stuff inside, and one was just a regular pc. the keyboard seemed to be hidden inside the machine itself. actually, i think it is a tablet pc inside from what i saw. that is how they save costs and allow you to use it as a touch screen!
but the scary thing is that they were booting into windows xp! i was trusting my check deposit to the robustness of windows xp. i dunno what to think, except that i hope they have their anti-virus up to date :P
